Heartland operates two automatic Hyd-Mech band saws (12″ & 14″) which it operates in a cell for maximum productivity. These saws have preset feed rates, part feeding, and part clamping features which allow them to operate independently. The saws represent the start of the production cycle for most of the parts we make.

Thus, saw operators are responsible for selecting the proper materials from our color coded materials inventory and insuring proper tracing of heat numbers is maintained. Operators then stage the sawed parts for further production processes. Training familiarizes our saw operators with proper selection of tooth geometries, tooth pitches, and saw materials for increased production rates and greater blade life.
